Yoruba leaders have come for the national leader of all progressive congress (APC) for keeping mute over the security outfit known as Operation Amotekun established by the leaders in the region.
The outfit that was immediately declared illegal by the federal government through the attorney general of the federation Abubakar malami was established on the 9th of January 2020. Since its inception, there’s been back and forth from the south west leaders, the federal government and other important stakeholders in the country, but Tinubu who is perceived as one of the top ranked political leader in the region and the country at large has refused to speak on the matter despite so many efforts made to have him say something about the outfit. His actions has now caused outrage among the southwest leaders.
91 years old Adebanjo in an interview with punch tackled tinubu for forming alliance with the north believing it will benefit the southwestern states but the reverse has been the case. “it was the likes of Tinubu that told us that the southwest would enjoy many privileges, but what has the southwest beneffited from the alliance? He shouldn’t have forged an alliance in the first place.” Adebanjo futher stated that tinubu will never become president of the country. According to him, Apc leader (Tinubu) has been keeping mum over Amotekun because he is been deceived with a presidential ticket.
